Staying Social Online!

These events are for young adults who can independently participate by ZOOM.  Most participants are 18+.

BOOK CLUB!

Our Book Club will meet every Tuesday from 3:30PM-4:30PM.   Following book suggestions from other book clubs and input from local librarians, we will read a variety of stories together.   We also welcome Book Club participants to share opinions and suggestions about books.  The books we choose will be high interest, and easy readability so EVERYONE (no matter your reading skills) can full participate!  We hope to offer opportunities to connect socially, build friendships, and engage in life-long learning.  We hope you will join us! RSVP to join our book club!

After 3 years, our participants have read the following books:

  • Because of Winn Dixie

  • Charlie & The Chocolate Factory

  • Matilda

  • The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe

  • Dr. Dolittle

  • Treasure Island

  • Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets

  • Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban

  • A Wrinkle In Time

  • Peter Pan

  • The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (a Favorite!)

  • Freaky Friday

  • Our Current Book is… The Merry Adventures of Robinhood

JEOPARDY!

We offer weekly opportunities to participate in "Jeopardy" style games with categories suggested by our participants.  In our Jeopardy games, the points don't matter, but having fun and being friendly to one another does matter!  Jeopardy meets every Thursday from 3:30PM-4:30PM via ZOOM.  RSVP to join this social group!  Jeopardy participants gather the last Saturday of each month to participate in person!

Our Voluntere, Stueve, also takes Jeopardy on the Road!  Rate is $75.00 per hour. Contact her directly to host this event at your day service or post-high program.  Email: Stueve@advocacyinmotion.org
